Who We Are

Owned by Chris and Val Cox, C.J Cox Ltd is an Agricultural Engineering business based in Bagber, Sturminster Newton, Dorset, specialising in the supply and servicing of Valtra tractors, Merlo telehandlers, Krone grassland and Amazone tillage machinery. These premium brands are in addition to numerous other carefully selected machinery lines to ensure that we have a complete portfolio of agricultural machinery solutions. The company currently employees in excess of twenty staff over all departments

Our History

Having served his apprenticeship at MF dealership South Western Farmers in Sturminster Newton, before then moving on to become workshop foreman at IH dealer Beare’s, in 1983 Chris Cox felt it was time to branch out by himself and C.J.Cox was established. Working out from the back of a van and Chris’s fathers farm, the business has steadily grown from strength to strength since its inception. We have been trading from the current site at Bagber since 1984, soon after becoming a dealer for Same and Zetor tractors. As business increased, so did employment and subsequently opportunities presented themselves. We were awarded the Valtra tractor franchise for North Dorset in 1991 and then expanded to the whole of Dorset in 2005, which now makes us one of the UK’s most long standing Valtra dealers.

Other significant franchise acquisitions to date would be Ifor Williams Trailers in 2005, Krone grassland in 2017 and Amazone in 2018. All premium brands of machinery in their relative field that we are proud to represent as a dealer.

Our commitment to the Valtra brand was rewarded when we were presented with the Dealer of the Year award at the Lamma show in 2019, recognition of our continued support to consistently develop and support the Valtra brand.

2020 brought a further expansion of our trading territory west into South Somerset and East Devon and the acquisition of the Merlo Telehandler franchise throughout our new trading area.

We still support our historical franchises of Same, Zetor, Caterpillar, Lely and JF to name a few, through the ever present stock of spare parts and trained service engineers.
